Después del single de presentación de su último álbum de estudio Rated R, el tema Russian Roulette, la cantante Rihanna lanzó el segundo single tan sólo unas semanas después. En "Hard" colabora el rapero Young Jeezy, y de momento ha alcanzado el #8 en U.S. Billboard Hot 100, #9 en Canadá o #17 en Nueva Zelanda.
