La cantante Beyoncé vuelve después de su último álbum B'Day (2006). Lanza nuevo disco titulado I Am... , del que se extrae este "If I Were A Boy" como primer single, que viene acompañado por otra canción "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" lanzadas ambas el mismo día. El álbum saldrá a la venta durante los días 17 y 18 de Noviembre en el Reino Unido y Estados Unidos, respectivamente.
