On a Mission - GABRIELLA CILMI

Hace un par de años que conocimos a Gabriella Cilmi con su tema Sweet About Me, y poco más se ha sabido de ella hasta ahora. Lanzó varios singles después de su debut pero prácticamente no tuvieron repercusión. Es ahora cuando lanzará su segundo álbum de estudio, Ten, que nos presenta con "On a Mission" un tema radicalmente distinto, que ha alcanzado ya el #9 en Reino Unido o el #16 en Australia.

We knew about Gabriella Cilmi about two years ago, with Sweet About Me, but this was the last thing about her until the date. She released many singles after her debut but they didn't succeed. Now she will be release her second studio album Ten, with the song "On a Mission" as the leading single. This is a different song than the previous ones, and has reached #9 in the UK or #16 in Australia.

Ayer se celebraron los Brit Awards, los premios más importantes de la industria musical británica, con Duffy como la gran ganadora de la noche, justo al contrario que Coldplay, que partían como uno de los grandes favoritos pero se fueron a casa con las manos vacías. Además pudimos ver actuaciones interesantes, como la banda U2 presentando su último tema.

Yesterday were held the Brit Awards, the most important awards in the British musical industry, with Duffy as the great winner of the night, just the opposite than Coldplay, who were one of the favourite bands to win but they did not win any award. Furthermore, we could see some interesting performances, like the band U2 acting their new song.

La australiana Gabriella Cilmi ha editado para estas navidades una versión de I'm Gonna Be Warm This Winter de Connie Francis. La ha rebautizado como "Warm This Winter" y la ha lanzado de momento únicamente al mercado del Reino Unido, alcanzando hasta el momento el #29. Recordemos que antes de este tema lanzó Save the Lies (Good To Me) y un tercer single de su álbum del que os hablaremos en próximas semanas.

The Australian singer Gabriella Cilmi has made for this Christmas a cover version of I'm Gonna Be Warm This Winter by Connie Francis. The song has been re-named as "Warm This Winter" and has been launched only in the UK, reaching #29 so far. Ella, al igual que otras como Duffy o Amy Winehouse, tiene su propio estilo y se caracteriza por su voz, por lo que es fácilmente reconocible. El primer single y con el que se da a conocer en todo el mundo es "Sweet About Me", número 1 ya en Australia, su país de origen. Ahora se da a conocer a nivel internacional y empieza a hacer daño en las listas de éxito, solo hará falta esperar unos meses para que sea, seguramente, uno de los éxitos del año.
