BSO: SWEENEY TODD

Desde que empezamos la sección no habíamos visto aun ninguna canción perteneciente a un musical, así que ya va siendo hora. Empezamos por una de las películas más exitosas de este año que pronto acabará, Sweeney Todd. Para algunos decepcionante, para otros impresionante... Ésta es la última película de la dupla Tim Burton-Johnny Depp. El film está basado en un musical del mismo título que cuenta la sangrienta historia de un barbero que vuelve a Londres con sed de venganza después de que el juez Turpin le robara a su mujer y a su hija. Aunque es un musical, se hace bastante ameno y no es aburrido. Con una puesta en escena oscura y tétrica, van sonando las canciones y la acción. Aunque Johnny Depp y Helena Bonham Carter no son cantantes, salvan bien al papeleta con sus respectivas actuaciones.

Since we started the section we had not even seen any song from a musical film, so it is time to do it. We start by one of the most successful films of this year Sweeney Todd. For some disappointing for other impressive ... This is the last film of the couple Tim Burton-Johnny Depp. The film is based on a musical of the same title that tells the bloody tale of a barber who returns to London with a thirst for revenge after the judge Turpin rook away his wife and daughter from him. Although it is a musical, is fairly entertaining and not boring. With a set design dark and tetric, where songs and action goes on. Altough Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are not singers, they do a great job.

Hoy queremos hablaros de un cantante no muy conocido mundialmente pero que creemos que en poco tiempo y con una promoción adecuada puede llegar a serlo. Se trata de Jon McLaughlin un cantante poprock, escritor y pianista. Después de un primer álbum de estudio titulado Indiana, con una de sus canciones más conocidas, Beautiful Disaster, lanzó en octubre su segundo álbum titulado OK Now, del que se extrajo la canción de la que hablamos ahora. El primer single, y único hasta ahora, del álbum fue "Beating My Heart" alcanzando el #21 en la lista U.S. Billboard Hot Adult 40 Tracks. Hemos esperado un tiempo pero, aunque no se vaya a publicar en ningún sitio fuera de Estados Unidos, o por lo menos no hay noticias de ello, la hemos puesto dentro de ChartBreaker porque tanto la canción como el cantante merecen mucho la pena. Esperemos que os guste.

Después vendria el tema Ella Elle L'a, consiguiendo un éxito masivo, sobretodo en España. Precisamente en España lanza ahora "Voyage Voyage", el primer single del que hablabamos antes, que para no perder la tradición sale casi año y medio después que en el resto de Europa. Parece que algunas cosas no cambiarán nunca, y los españoles seguiremos recibiendo la música con años de retraso.
