BSO: The Phantom of the Opera

En 2004, el temible director Joel Schumacher estrenó la adaptación cinematrogràfica del musical el Fantasma de la Ópera. El film no fue demasiado bien recibido. Las comparaciones con el musical son odiosas, no nos vamos a engañar, unos tipos que cantan en directo y se dedican a eso siempre serán mejor que los cuatro actores de turno que les hacen clases, o que saben cantar un poco y que se lanzan a un proyecto de estas caracterísiticas. Personalmente encuentro en el Fantasma de la Ópera una obra fascinante, oscura y romántico en el sentido más antiguo de la palabra. Canciones opera-rock que consiguen hacer avanzar una trama sencilla pero efectiva que mezcla amor, celos, locura... (el doblaje en español es penoso...)

In 2004, the filmdirector Joel Schumacher released the adaptation in the big screen of the Phantom's of the Opera musical. The film was not too well received. Is not fair comparing the movie with me musical, musical artist (yes are better) are actors/singers who sing live and are involved in this, will always be better than the four actors who take sing classes or who can sing a little and try to do a project of these characteristics. Personally I find the Phantom of the Opera a fascinating work, dark and romantic in the old sense of the word. Opera-rock songs that manage to take forward a simple but effective plot that mixes love, jealousy, madness ...

La cantante galesa Jem vuelve con un nuevo álbum de estudio titulado Down To Earth, el segundo de su carrera después de Finally Woken, del que nos presentó They. El primer single de este nuevo álbum es "It's Amazing", que ya empieza a sonar en algunos países de Europa, entre ellos España. De momento no tiene mucha repercusión pero suponemos que es cuestión de tiempo que se popularice más.

The Welsh singer Jem comes back with a new studio album titled Down To Earth, the second in her career after Finally Woken, from which she presented us They. The leading single from this new album is "It's Amazing", which is beggining to sound around Europe, Spain among them. So far, the song has not reached a big popularity but we think it will reach it in some time.

Esta semana te presentamos como ChartBreaker lo nuevo de Ciara, esta vez junto al cantante Justin Timberlake, que presenta su nuevo álbum de estudio, el tercero de su carrera, titulado Fantasy Ride. El primer single es "Love Sex Magic", aunque en Estados Unidos ya lanzó Never Ever como primer single, junto a Young Jeezy. Love Sex Magic se lanzó el 3 de Marzo y de momento ya ha alcanzado el #5 en Australia, #3 en Turquía, #10 en U.S. Billboard Hot 100 o #8 en Canadá, entre otros países, así que es de suponer que aún conseguirá mejores posiciones en los próximos meses.

Hace ya muchos meses que una canción de Robin S. se volvió a lanzar al mercado musical europeo en distintas versiones, todas ellas con bastante éxito. Así pues, "Show Me Love", una de las canciones dance de más éxito en Reino Unido de la historia, se relanzó con remixes de Steve Angello & Laidback Luke, alcanzando el #1 en la lista Dance de Reino Unido y el #11 en su lista de singles oficial. También Michael Mind lanzó su propia versión del tema, además de otros productores.

Some months ago, a song by Robin S. was re-released to the european musical scene in different versiones, all of them with a great success. So, "Show Me Love", one of the most successful dance songs in the UK of all the time, was released with remixes by Steve Angello & Laidback Luke, reaching #1 in the Dance Chart of the UK and #11 in its Official Singles Chart. Other producers, as Michael Mind, made their own versions of this song.

BSO: Appaloosa (Scare Easy - Mudcrutch)

Appaloosa fue uno de los westerns estrenados el pasado año. Aunque no fue un gran éxito en taquilla, ni tampoco una obra maestra del género; sí que es un intento bastante digno en esta tendencia de renovar el western. Un film dirigido por Ed Harris donde dos amigos interpretados por Ed Harris y Viggo Mortensen que llegan a Appaloosa para imponer su ley. Pronto surgiran los primeros problemas con una misteriosa mujer (Zwellenger) y un poderoso ranchero (Jeremy Irons). En los créditos finales aparece esta canción rock con ritmos folk y country. En el film y después de Scare Easy también aparece otra canción You'll Never Leave My Heart que supone el debut delante el micro de Ed Harris.

Appaloosa was one of the westerns relased last year. Although it wasn't a great success in the box office, neither a western masterpiece; it was a pretty decent attempt in this trend of renew western. A film directed by Ed Harris about two friends played by Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen arrive to Appaloosa to impose their law. Soon begin the problems with the new arrival of a mysterious woman (Zwellenger) and a powerful rancher (Jeremy Irons). The song Scare Easy, a rock song with folk and country rhythms appears in the final credits. In the film and after Scare Easy is also another song You'll Never Leave My Heart which is the singing debut of Ed Harris.

Un tema producido por Abel The Kid está sonando estas semanas por muchas pistas de baile de nuestro país y en algunas emisoras de música electrónica, y está teniendo bastante éxito. El tema en cuestión es "Tell Me", y de momento ha llegado hasta el #38 en la lista oficial de la emisora MáximaFM, donde entró hace solo 2 semanas, y hasta el #32 en la lista de FlaixFM, las dos emisoras de música electrónica más importantes de España.
